No, you haven’t been “rickrolled,” you’ve just learned the beta code for Hollrback, an iPhone and web app released by Gabe Kangas and team earlier this week. In fact, if you head over to Hollrback.com to sign up, the “Beta Code” field is already pre-populated with the code: “rickroll.”

Signing up for the Hollrback web app only gets you so far, however, the Hollrback iPhone app is what’s needed to swap your Hollrback cards with other Hollrback users (website states Blackberry and Android apps are coming soon). If you are antsy to sign up, but don’t have an iPhone to sport the app, you can at least set up your Hollrback card. And if you’re super ambitious, you can print out your QR code for others to scan.

Note that the QR code itself, however, won’t work with other QR code readers as the information in the code is stored in the Hollrback backend. This storage allows for all cards exchanged between users to be updated when a user updates the information on his or her Hollrback card.
