We’ve all been there before, it’s Friday night and you’re trying to coordinate with all your friends what the plan is for this weekend. Through various phone calls and text threads things quickly become confusing and no one knows what is going on. What if everyone could join the same team and be on the same phone call or text thread? Seems pretty simple, right? Well, thanks to Fast Society, they finally found out an easy way to do this.

Fast Society is a mobile application that creates the best way to share fun experiences with friends. The process is quite easy. First, you create your team and the all phone numbers and users that you’ll be communicating with and then you select the time frame that your group needs to communicate. After these two steps, you start messaging to your shortcode and begin staying in touch with your team.

Fast Society isn’t completely alone in the group text messaging space. Competitor, GroupMe, which launched in May just announced a $10.6 million capital round of funding. Fast Society offers a slightly different experience for users with a designated time frame for your group and thus far Fast Society has chosen the bootstrapped route.

Fast Society, a New York-based startup, launched in September and has garnered quite a bit of press and buzz since their launch. At the end of September I met Fast Society co-founder, Michael Constantiner, at Tahoe Tech Talk and became immediately intrigued with his story and his new app. Michael was kind enough to sit down with me and walk me through the purpose behind Fast Society and how it helps user.
