BarCamp Des Moines 2010 wrap up and photos

The 2010 edition of BarCamp Des Moines took place this past weekend all across the Western Gateway area of Downtown Des Moines. BarCamp kicked off with an opening party at The Des Moines Social Club on Friday night where a small group of attendees got a jump on the community and social aspects of the event. The rest of the participants, approximately 75 in total, joined in on Saturday morning when BarCamp took over the conference room suite at the Des Moines Central Public Library. Doors opened at 9 a.m. and after a very quick set up by the organizing team of Shane Reiser, Levi Rosol, Drew Larson and myself, the sessions began with all participants in one room for "Book Club" an annual discussion of each person's most recent reads.
Sessions ran from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. in 25-minute increments and featured a more diverse set of topics than past years, ranging from "Building Your Own Startup Culture" led by Dan Shipton to "How (and why) to Take a Trip Around the World" led by Andy Stoll.
BarCamp Des Moines also featured many presentations on development and programming topics, as per the BarCamp norm, in the technical track. The day finished with a catered meal from Big Tomato Pizza as most of the participants networked in a crowded room a few blocks away at Foundry Coworking.

Fun stuff guys, thanks for organizing this! I know the BitMethod team got a lot out of it.
Curious why the attendance number is approximate, didn't people register? It would be nice for the tech community to have accurate info on that kind of thing to help with planning their own events.
Great conference--thanks to all who attended and arranged. Would love to do this quarterly!
@Scott Thanks for the kind words and thanks to BitMethod team for stepping up with so many presentations! The number is approximate because we haven't had a time to tally it, yet. People did pre-register but we had a big walk up crowd and we need to add those to the others. Some pre-registers didn't make it, too. We'll release the final count on the Barcamp blog sometime soon.
