Here are the listed new features released with Version 1.2, from itunes.apple.com:

Dustin Anderson, the company’s CTO who works from the company’s Chicago location, answered a few questions for us:

Silicon Prairie News: How has GeoClip.it been received since the original launch?

Dustin Anderson: Awesomely. People have been very excited to save more time and money and we’re glad to have something that people can really benefit from. Our impressions and user activity on our first release was outstanding, and we think this new version will be even more robust.

What’s next for GeoClip.it?

We’ll keep pulling in deals from more great Daily Deal partnerships. We’ll keep working on making the deals you see relevant, exciting, and useful. We really care about our customers so if there is something you want to see, please let us know at info@geoclip.it.

Who are your main competitors in the mobile advertising space?

Yipit [is one competitor]. We have great content and our focus is on serving it up in a way that is useful to the customer. For example, if you tweet with a geolocation (latitude and longitude) attached to your tweet, and you have our iPhone app installed, we’ll do a push notification to let you know if there are deals near you. So, we’re trying to provide useful information even if you aren’t opening the app. You’re out having a night on the town, you tweet, and it happens to be near a great deal… we’ll push that deal to your phone. We don’t know of anyone doing that and of course, if you don’t want push notifications (free service), you can turn them off.
