Barcamp Des Moines will take place a little more than a month from now, organizers announced today. The annual “un-conference” is pegged for December 3rd & 4th at a location to be determined.

Unlike a traditional conference where speakers and topics are determined ahead of time and promoted, Barcamps are more ad-hoc with a completely open schedule until the event starts. Anyone with interest or passion in a topic can sign up on-site to present, lecture, discuss, or demonstrate about it. Topics are completely open but this year will be grouped into three tracks: entrepreneurship, technology and creative.

Also new this year is a planned opening night party (December 3rd).

Ticket’s for Barcamp Des Moines are $5 and include an event T-shirt and lunch on December 4th. They can be purchased at barcampdsm.eventbrite.com.

Note: The author, Geoff Wood, is on the planning team for this event.
