3rd annual Highlight Midwest to be held in Omaha on Nov. 18th

Omaha October 26, 2010 by Dusty Davidson Only 14 days until Big Omaha. Get your tickets before they sell out!

November is shaping up to be a busy month, with the recently announced Barcamp Omaha, and now with 3rd annual Highlight Midwest which takes place on Thursday, November 18th. The event breaks down like this:

For those who are unfamiliar with the event, Highlight Midwest is a 1-day conference which aims to "highlight" the great entrepreneurs, startups and communities within the Omaha, Kansas City and Des Moines areas. The first year was held at the Kauffman Foundation in Kansas City, and last year was held in Des Moines.

Format of the event

The format is similar to Barcamp, with the daytime event consisting of several small 25 minute presentations presentations occurring at once. These presentations hopefully showcase a particularly cool company, technology or startup that cares to share the interesting things they've been working on.

In the evening, everyone will migrate to Creighton University for cocktails and mingling, and three representatives from each of Omaha, Kansas City, and Des Moines will give larger presentations.

Register to attend and speak

Registration is open now, and costs just $15 for the entire event. This includes breakfast, lunch, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, and a t-shirt.

You may also register to speak at the event, both during the day and at the evening event. The best talks are ones which highlight and showcase a great innovation, technology or creative endeavor. These talks are more show-and-tell, and less instructional. If you'd like to speak, you can fill out the request form here.

For you out-of-towners, there are special rates at hotels that are across the street from the venue. Check out the Highlight Midwest website for more details.
