Sunday Video: Marc Andreessen’s three criteria for startup success

June 6, 2010 by Jeff Slobotski

In my search for this Sunday's video, I found a rare presentation that Marc Andreessen, former serial entrepreneur now of the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, gave at Stanford University a few weeks ago.

I have followed Marc for some time as he provides a precise understanding of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, both from an entrepreneur, as well as an investor's angle.

Also, I have shared his productivity tips post with many of you, but for those who haven't had a chance to read through Andreessen's productivity tips, I highly suggest reading, The Pmarca Guide to Personal Productivity.

In the video segment below, Marc shares his thoughts on the three critical criteria for the success of a startup.

I'd encourage watching the entire talk, A Panorama of Venture Capital and Beyond, as it includes his thoughts on who make the best venture capitalists, entrepreneurship in the cloud and much more.

Enjoy!

Is there a difference between venture capitalism and simply using personal money to fund a start-up or company? Does it have to be a start-up you are investing in to be considered "venture capitalism"? The Pmarca Guide to Personal Productivity is great!
