One of the largest multi-tenant data center facilities in the Omaha area is about to wire up more space here in the Metro.

The Scott Data Center, located at the Scott Technology Center, announced on June 8 the addition of 4,500 square feet of co-location space in order to meet the demands of technology-based companies.

This space will include 150 more cabinets for data storage.

The Tier III facility, which opened in January 2006, already covers 80,000 square feet and has the capability of exceeding 200 watts of power consumption per square foot. The redundant, weather-resistant facility can withstand winds more than 200 mph and has storm-protected back-up generators to assure 100 percent uptime for the enterprise-level organizations, as well as smaller and mid-size companies it serves.

By July 2011, the data center plans to expand its services even further with the addition of 48,000 square feet of raised floor space and 32,000 square feet of custom built space.
