It’s with great excitement that we announce our partnership with Omaha World-Herald‘s online edition, Omaha.com. Starting this week, readers of Omaha.com’s Money section will be able to access articles originally published on SiliconPrairieNews.com. You can read the announcement on Omaha.com here.

We’ve modeled the content sharing after similar arrangements between popular blogs and traditional news publications, such as TechCrunch and WashingtonPost.com and VentureBeat and NYTimes.com. In each case, selected content from the former publication’s website is presented alongside articles on the latter publication’s website.

BECOME A SPONSOR

Here’s a screenshot of what’s to come from our Omaha.com partnership:

This partnership is exciting to us for a number of reasons. First and foremost, it provides greater exposure for the companies and individuals we cover. Our mission has always been to highlight and promote the innovators from the region, and this partnership will exponentially expand the reach and impact of our coverage.

Second, the partnership validates the quality and importance of our content. Thanks in large part to the efforts of Danny Schreiber, the overall quality of articles published on Silicon Prairie News has increased drastically since our beginnings as a simple blog. This endorsement, from an established publication, highlights just how far we’ve come in a short amount of time.

We’d like to thank the team at Omaha.com for their support, including Jeff Carney, Pat Lazure and others who helped with the integration. We look forward to continue working with them as we explore other opportunities to team up.

Lastly, and most importantly, we’d like to thank each and every one of our readers for your support of Silicon Prairie News over the past two years. We have a great community with an ever-growing energy and passion for building Omaha and the region into a place where entrepreneurs, innovators and creatives can be excited to continue pushing the envelope.

Note: Though the announcement is being made today, it will be a few days before content begins showing up on Omaha.com.
