Congrats to Ben Schaechter, a.k.a. Bentern
Many of you who follow Silicon Prairie News regularly or attend some of our events, are likely familiar with former BrightMix intern Ben Schaechter (a.k.a. Bentern). Ben spent the summer working at the BrightMix / SPN office, building out his company GoPollGo.
We've covered GoPollGo a number of times, including:
- Participant at the first Creative Capital Pitch Competition
- Ben presenting at Cornstalks
- Launch of GoPollGo
- Interview after the Springboard Lunch
Ben will be graduating from Creighton University in May and has accepted a position with TechCrunch out in Silicon Valley.
From Ben's site:
The company is a perfect fit for me. Startup, entrepreneurial focused and does a lot of cool stuff. If there is one thing I have learned so far with work, it is to surround yourself with the smartest people you can. After meeting the team out there, I think this is right in line with that goal. Everyone is not only very cool, but quite smart as well. Everyone I met was super chill.
It's both exciting and sad for us as Omaha is losing a real rockstar with a startup mind. However, this is an amazing opportunity for Ben, and we certainly wish him all the luck in the world out in sunny California. When the cost of living gets too high, or the constant sunshine and warmth drives him crazy, I'm sure he'll be back :)
Congrats Ben!

Ben-
We're extremely excited & proud of what you've done in a short amount of time here.
It's been fun following the progression of GoPollGo and everything else you've been involved with, and look forward to keeping in contact!
Keep up the stellar work!
Thank you, SPN! It has been awesome to have the support of you guys over the span of the last year or two. Without the Omaha community, GoPollGo would not have gotten to where it did. I am excited about my new gig and will definitely keep in touch.
On a related note, I thoroughly enjoy the link rel="image_src" of this page. Thank you, Dusty =)
Upon clicking through to the front page: I see it is the feature picture as well. Oh boy.
