2. Why do you blog?

I blog to share my thoughts, ideas and opinions. I blog to be a voice in Ames, to talk about the good the bad and the ugly (with business, marketing, social media, branding, small businesses, etc.) I blog to inspire people to ask questions, to look at the world a little different. I blog to share my world with the world. I blog to help people.

3. How long have you been blogging and what software do you use?

I’ve been blogging a year and a half. I blog on WordPress.com

4. What’s your favorite blog (besides your own)?

My favorite blogs would have to be

TheBrandChef.com

TheCheeseEffect.com (my wife has good ideas)

I also blog for my business Social Republick, SocialRepublick.com

5. What do you think the state of the blogosphere is in our region?

I think the state of blogging in Ames/ Iowa as a general is good. I think there are a lot of people talking about different things. Many people have different aspirations, things that inspire them and are willing to share it. There are a lot of great written blogs, but also great photo blogs and video blogs. It’s nice, because some people feel very comfortable in one media (photo, written, video) BUT there are several that embrace them all and like to change it up from time to time. I need to get more in the habit of doing that myself. I also love the fact that we have many individuals and businesses that are blogging about the same topics and information, but do it in a way, where their ideas, thoughts and opinions are all different and presented in a different way.
