Late last week, the Des Moines Music Coalition announced the dates and venue for the 2010 iteration of the 80/35 Music Festival. Set for Saturday, July 3 and Sunday, July 4 this year's festival will again take place at Western Gateway Park in downtown Des Moines.
The organizers have put out a call for both local and regional acts who would like to participate in the event. Those interested in participating can find out more at the organization's website. Additionally, fans of the festival are invited to suggest the acts that they would like to see perform by commenting on the event's fan page on Facebook.
The final lineup is expected to be released in April.
The inaugural 80/35 Music Festival was held 2008 and has since featured national touring acts such as Ben Harper and the Relentless7, Public Enemy, The Flaming Lips and The Roots as well as groups based in Iowa, such as The Nadas and The Envy Corps.

Could I recommend the David Haack Trio as suggestion for your festival line-up. This is an emerging talent who has tremendous audience appeal.

I recommend bringing in the DAVID HAACK TRIO for a taste of local talent - they're a fun blues/rock band and I hear the bass player has GREAT hair.

I've never seen the David Hack Trio but I've heard a lot of good things. They got positive remarks on Pitchfork and angie's list last year. Has anyone heard about the 2011 line up yet? I heard they're trying to get Passion Pit and MGMT. If it's true, I am SO THERE.
