SPN interviews Gennaro Leo of Innovation Accelerator

Omaha January 25, 2010 by Jeff Slobotski

Gennaro Leo is a relatively new resident to Omaha and I had the opportunity to catch up with him to learn just a bit more about what he's working on for the Innovation Accelerator, which has offices at the Scott Technology Center (pictured below). Gennaro brings an amazing amount of background experience and passion in the venture capital and startup arenas.

Before joining the Innovation Accelerator, Gennaro served as an analyst for Accrue Sports and Entertainment Ventures, a strategic venture capital firm that investing early stage digital media and technology companies.

As part of Accrue, Gennaro individually performed due-diligence on over 250 portfolio companies with several hundred entrepreneurs spread across the world. His analysis background consists of various content and technology offerings ranging from software solutions, mobile, gaming, streaming video, clean technology, and many more throughout the media and entertainment industry. In addition, Gennaro managed a $50,000 consulting engagement with a sports software company by leveraging his own contacts in the professional and collegiate football industry on behalf of Accrue.

Personally, I'm very excited to have Gennaro in our community and look for future works from him on Silicon Prairie News.

Welcome Gennaro -
we should meet soon, i've been fascinated by the Innovation Accelerator since hearing about it last year.

Also, thank you for such kind words about Nebraska - let me know what you are working on and what you need next in your project, perhaps I can assist.

Welcome to the area... We need more "coast" experience to come to the Midwest. Whether that be East or West Coast...
