The cartoon above is by Omaha cartoonist Jeff Koterba, whose work regularly appears in the Omaha World-Herald. When John Henry Müller of What Cheer was showing me his latest project a couple month ago, Jeff's website, I got a kick out of the above cartoon as well as the two below.

I soon learned Jeff is mutli-talented. Earlier this month he released a memoir, Inklings, and since '98 he's been the lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter for the Prairie Cats, a swing and jump-blues band.

It's also evident he's doing what he loves. In the video below, which is the trailer for his book, he recollects, "I told myself from a very early age that I am going to do what I love. And I know its kind of cornball when people say, 'Do what you love and the money will follow,' but I really do believe that."

Enjoy the cartoons and video below. For more of Jeff's work, visit jeffreykoterba.com/toons, and, as you'd expect, you can find him on Twitter, @jeffreykoterba.

Have always admired Jeff's work. Super refreshing to get to 'meet' the human behind it. Inspiring story. Thanks for posting it, Danny

Phil, I agree. I've enjoyed his cartoons in the OWH for the past few years and it was great to see him on camera.
