First TechBrew Iowa event is Nov. 12
The Technology Association of Iowa (TAI) is hosting it's first "TechBrew Iowa" event on Thursday, November 12 at 5 PM at Dos Rios (316 Court Ave) in Des Moines.
The event will be an informal gathering with the goal of bringing "entrepreneurs, technologists, business people and funders" to one place for "lubricated serendipity." To spur conversation, TAI will be buying the first round.

As a follow up, I think TAI's intentions with events like TechBrew are to help facilitate that "social scene where Valley-like serendipitous moments can happen" that Sarah Lacy writes about in the "Centers of Innovation" post that is at the core of SPN's mission.
A single event won't do it but I'm confident that over time events like TechBrew will lead to a "Valley-like social scene" evolving in Des Moines and elsewhere across the Midwest.
