Well, the end of the month is nearly upon us. This can mean only one thing, it is time once again for another edition of Cornstalks, the Greater Omaha Chamber’s group for pre-seed and seed entrepreneurs from the Greater Omaha region.

Actually, something just occurred to me: is there some sort of link between the words “Cornstalks” and “seed?” Some seeds do, after all, grow into cornstalks. Hmm…very clever, Tom Chapman. With Halloween weekend looming right around the corner, I personally think that our host, Tom, should appear in costume. Maybe it’s just me.

For those of you who weren’t with us last week, you missed a real treat. We were visited by Bruce Hoberman, who was perhaps my favorite speaker yet. He’s been an active entrepreneur for over 30 years, which started when he founded Homer’s Music at the tender age of 23. He’s now CEO of Proxibid, an internet auction service provider. We still have the session posted here, so check it out if you weren’t with us.

This week, Cornstalks welcomes Dr. Anne York and entrepreneur associates of Creighton University, who willing be telling us about the new entrepreneur and innovation programs available at Creighton. Also, we’ll be hearing from some entrepreneurs that are currently participating in the programs, who will tell us about their new venture, experiences, and successes.

The now-standard Cornstalks format will apply, with networking and conversation featuring beer, wine, milk, cookies and Dt. Mountain Dew at 6:30 p.m., followed by our speakers at 7:30 p.m. Come for the speaker, but come early for the conversation.

Look forward to seeing you all there!
