Mike Templeton is a familiar face in the technology and entrepreneurial circles around Des Moines having played a significant role in several projects such as Flaggpole, Microblink, and What the Hashtag?!. We had the chance to sit down recently and discuss one of his projects that's picking up a lot of steam: TechSentry.

TechSentry is an information source sharing technology stories from around the state of Iowa. Their goals include providing a forum to get the statewide tech community at all levels -- from freelancers, to startups, to established corporations -- talking with each other, as well as to provide conduits to make connections and ensure visibility of events.

We're proud to hear Mike say that SPN was a partial influence in this endeavor and we look forward to seeing more from TechSentry in the future.

Practice makes perfect, right? I've got a little cleanup to do with speaking on camera, but Geoff made it easy.

Like I said in the video, Silicon Prairie News was definitely an inspiration in helping to get TechSentry started, so I owe a lot to you guys. Keep doing what you do!

You were great, Mike! And it looks like you had the rising sun coming in through the window to battle with.

It's an honor to hear we're an inspiration and we know you'll be inspiring others, as well, which is just what we set out to achieve. We're here to build and strengthen this community. Looking forward to things to come from you -- keep up the great work!

Great story... I think that we should all try and learn from what you are doing. I think that there is a lack of synergy and centralized information, and by being that conduit you are excelling. Congrats!

Thanks for the compliment, John. You nailed our purpose exactly. By acting as a point of centralized information, we hope that we can guide more people to the resources and individuals they are looking for.
