SPN interviews April Jones of Advantage Online Solutions
After stumbling across April Jones' Twitter stream a few weeks ago (she goes by April Tara online) I checked out her blog and was intrigued by a post titled Refocusing.
She begins by admitting that she had taken a couple months off from blogging to reevaluate her personal life, but then assured readers that frequency would pick up again. The next paragraph interested me most:
Now instead of struggling to keep my head above water and get my bills paid, I’ve taken on an amazing job that was a perfect fit for me – combining my tech skills and my interest in both marketing and the legal field – that will allow me to keep my business albeit on a part time basis yet still have a steady income.
I met April for coffee to learn more about how she built up her confidence after losing her job and turned to skills that she had picked up in her personal life to begin Advantage Online Solutions. I also asked her about her use of Twitter, which I was especially curious about since it's how I learned about her. It turned out I wasn't the only one who learned about her that way -- she met her biggest client, Alexis Martin Neely of Family Wealth Planning Institute, through Twitter.
Check out my interview below to learn more about her endeavor as well as what she thinks about the term "Mommy Blogger," which she's been called before, and whether or not she'll be holding a TweetUp in Plattsmouth, where she resides.
