It’s a busy season for BarCamps on The Prairie and Des Moines’ event will be taking place this Saturday, Sept. 26 at Impromptu Studio (300 SW 5th Street).
This year’s organizer, Aaron Webb, took time out of his schedule recently to discuss the planned event with us.
For those that don’t know, Barcamp is an “unconference” or a meeting of various individuals with no pre-planned agenda. Attendees are asked to show up on Saturday morning with their ideas for discussion and demo topics. The event tends to draw entrepreneurs and technologists, but the organizers are encouraging anyone with an interest in learning to participate.

This is the third year for Barcamp Des Moines and Aaron and the team are working to grow the event in both attendees and discussion topics. The event begins at 8 a.m. and is provided by the sponsors at no cost to the participants. The event is open to people of all geographies and would be a great kickoff to Barcamp Omaha, which will take place the following weekend.
