Thanks to the over 100 folks that came out Friday night for Silicon Prairie News’ One Year Birthday! The weather was tremendous as was the crowd and spirits!

As we look back over the last year or so, it’s truly humbling to see how much we’ve grown in such a short amount of time. And without a doubt, we couldn’t have done it without you! Our friends — the ones who show up to events, leave comments on stories and share news of what’s going on in Omaha and the greater Midwest — are the ones that we owe our success to.

Looking forward, we’re excited to continue providing stories and insight into some of the areas most unique and innovative ideas, businesses and individuals. We’re already working on building what we feel will be an “even bigger” Big Omaha for 2010 (stay tuned for the official dates very soon!).

At the end of the day, it always comes back to the people. When the site was started it was because of the people that call our city home. We knew there was something special about living here, and we’re reminded of it every day.

So, thank you! Thank you for your friendship, your support and your passion. We look forward to spending many more years building this movement…

We held our one year celebration in conjunction with BrightMix, our supporter from the start and current landlord (we’re in their basement)
