The founder and CEO of Firespring — a market consulting and web site development firm — spoke at Marz Bar (1140 O Street, Lincoln) to 50 members of the Lincoln Young Professionals Group about the trials, tribulations and triumphs of running a successful technology business. No stranger to the tumultuous tech market (and a survivor of the 2001 dot-com bust), Wilkinson talked for nearly an hour on ways for entrepreneurs to make their mark in the sector.

For starters, he advised newbies to draw on the collective wealth of information made readily available to franchise owners. He also admonished that, while the Internet can be a boon to innovative companies, history has proven that simply being online isn’t a crutch for bad business sense.
