300squareLast week I had an opportunity to talk with Kris and James, the minds behind 300 Square, the newest installation coming this week at Bluestone Development’s Empty Room project.

I’m excited by the most recent installation not only because of Kris and James’ passion to raise awareness around sustainability, but for their grassroots spirit.  They don’t come with large amounts of corporate support or donations, but have built their dream on their devotion to sharing the idea of demonstrating to others “the personal, social, economic, and environmental benefits of compact living as an alternative to traditional housing.”

This is more than an installation, this is a desire to encourage a conversation in Omaha about how we all currently live.

Afterwords, James shared some additional insight in terms of what folks will see and experience when they come to the space.

Here is a rendering of what the space will look like with actual photos coming this week after Kris and James have moved in.  Stay tuned for more information coming this week about an opening party on Saturday July 11th!
