If you’re a creative in Omaha – at a design boutique or an agency – you should think about giving Martin and Gavin a call or a tweet (ASAP). These recent college grads have set out on a one-month journey across America’s Midwest and South to meet and work with as many creatives as possible.

After graduating from Texas A&M this past May, they faced a tough job market, and although they were getting looks, they weren’t getting offers. Instead, they decided to take it upon themselves and launched their own endeavor, DriftingCreatives.com, to “design their way across the country.”

We are creative problem solvers, aka designers. One problem we are trying to solve is joblessness. What are we doing about it? We are taking our design skillz to the road. Too many small towns don’t have access to smart design. We know we aren’t a huge design firm, but we think we can help out.

They scheduled the stop in Omaha after they heard great things about its design community from one of their former bosses, Roby Fitzhenry, the creative director at Always Creative. Roby’s learned about the community, and experienced it himself, through his friend Eric Downs, owner of DownsDesign in Omaha.

They’ll be departing Omaha Wednesday evening, so if you’d like to be a part of their endeavor don’t hesitate to contact them.

Check out the interview below to hear their thoughts on Omaha, where they hope to be in the near future, and how Twitter has helped them find a couch, or at least a floor, nearly every night. We caught up with them at GoodTwin Design after their visit with its owner, Adam Nielsen.
