Omaha May 31, 2009 by Danny Schreiber

Congratulations to our first set of finalists for our second Pitch Session, brought to you through partnership with Invest Nebraska and Nomad Lounge. Check out the seven below, each with their submitted video.

With seven chosen, we're still accepting submissions to round out our group of 10. Have you submitted one? Don't hesitate, submit a quick pitch about your idea today. Remember, it doesn't need a proven revenue stream or a proof of concept. We won't be asking you for your business plan or your staff directory. We want to hear what you'd like to do and how you'd do it.

To enter, upload your one-minute pitch to YouTube and complete the submission form by midnight this Tuesday, June 2nd. We'll announce the last four finalists Wednesday morning.

So far Emily Kaminski get's my vote, but I'm not wild about the name. Such an opportunity for branding that would better match the site's purpose.

Laura Brooker's idea is pretty good too. Sounds like a good freemium model site.

I think Christopher Norton has a viable idea, but you need to just shoot a demo and pimp it to the travel channel.

I'd say to Tim Kephart, "just do it". Start reviewing some of the equipment you have right now, promote it on paintball forums and blogs, then start asking manufacturers to send you review samples of their equipment (then host contests to give those samples away). Advertising from manufacturers could be a conflict of interest, but you'll figure something out.

Good luck to all the finalists.
