Gary Vaynerchuck will be kicking off our two-day event with a taping of Wine Library TV. Talk about an example of hustling: Gary’s getting in a taping of his massively popular show and a speech Friday in his three-day visit. You’re not going to want miss this. Spirit World, a locally-owned gourmet deli and specialty wine, beer and liquor store, will be serving up the same wine Gary’s tasting and talking about in his show.

9:30 p.m. Shiver Shiver hits the stage at Slowdown open to the public

The “thunder show” has concluded, stick around for another round of drinks and good conversation. And as noted, the public is welcome to join.

5:45 p.m. Girls in Tech Omaha Launch Party at Urban Wine Company open to the public

This party/happy hour/chance to grab dinner is guaranteed to be rad. Join the Girls in Tech Omaha chapter to celebrate their launch and reflect on the happenings of the day. And did I mention they’ll be treating you to a couple free drinks? Thanks to their sponsors, Asset Appraisal Services and IPG, they will be (hint: look for the ladies in the GIT shirts for your drink coupons).

5:45 p.m. Discussion with David Carlick and John Staenberg at The French Cafe open to the public

Just a couple blocks north, in the heart of the Old Market, Gigadea will be holding a dynamic discussion with leading venture capitalists David Carlick and Jon Staenberg. The discussion, sponsored by Revolution Capital Partners, begins at 6:30 and promises to answer the question: “What to do next – now that you have the ‘Big Idea,’ how do you finance it.” Hor d’oeuvers and cash bar available. Space is limited. RSVP here.

8:00 p.m. #BIGOMAHA The Official Big Omaha After Party at Nomad Lounge open to the public

Hosted by Nomad Lounge, produced by Archrival, this party is sure to please. They’ll be an open bar for BIG Omaha attendees and a $10 cover for those without (but unfortunately, no open bar).

Saturday, May 9th

9:00 a.m. Tweetup at Aromas Coffeehouse open to the public

Don’t be confused by the official title: “Omaha TweetUP #5.” Everybody from everywhere is invited, and everything that ever happened will be talked about (or maybe just the stuff that’s happened over the past couple of days). Oh, and you should totally RSVP, it’s always fun.

Odds and Ends

If you need parking at KANEKO, we recommend Central Parking’s lot at 11th and Jackson.

Omaha’s public transportation is limited to a bus system, you can plan a trip at trip-planner.metroareatransit.com.

If you need a cab, try Checker/Happy/Yellow at (402) 339-8294 or Safeway at (402) 342-7474.
