Packs of Promise featured on WOWT

Omaha December 10, 2008 by Dusty Davidson

Silicon Prairie News' own Jeff Slobotski was featured in a story tonight on local news television station WOWT. He talked with Malorie Maddox about the non-profit he started 2 years ago -- Packs of Promise -- which provides backpacks full of warm clothes and supplies to the homeless.

From the article on WOWT.com...

Jeff Slobotski keeps busy making sure others have a great Christmas. Two years ago, he started his own charity, Packs of Promise, to benefit Omaha’s homeless.

It combines donations of gloves, socks, and other warm weather gear in a backpack for those at the Siena Francis House.

Jeff says, “We don’t just limit it to just cash donations, but we’ll take new backpacks, new sweatpants, whatever that may be. So I think that helps alleviate the fear, as well that it’s a non-profit or a charity that’s looking just for cash donations.”
