Creighton’s Entrepreneurial Organization & ‘Juicy Ideas’

Omaha December 5, 2008 by Jeff Slobotski

Some really cool news out of Creighton University...

The Juicy Ideas Competition, sponsored by Google along with others, put out a call for teams of students at various Universities to register in their competition.  Google released the "secret object" which turned out to be plastic bags for the Iowa Region.  The teams had a relatively short amount of time to figure out the most viable alternative to simply dumping plastic bags in the landfill.  The teams were required to make a video and submit it to the competition.

Creighton's Entrepreneurial Organization submitted two teams and here are their videos: Team 1 (1st Place): Mighty Ducks - Creighton University Students - Michael Mahoney, Joy Schaefer and Christopher Tooker

Team 2 (3rd Place): Jays for Chang - Creighton University Students - Laura Michels, Chris Beecham, Kelsey Nielson, Kate Dorman and Lois Ajiboye

The first place team won a load of prizes, money and technology in addition to the opportunity to advance to the national level!

If they win at Nationals, they'll receive an all expense paid trip to the famed Googleplex!

All in all, some pretty amazing things these Creighton students are doing!
